OZ

The Wizard of Oz and The Hunger Games are quite different at face value; however, if we look deeper we can find a lot of similarities. Right off the bat, both stories were books that were later adapted in movie format. This is a good example of the relationship between literature and other media (in this case it is cinema). The Protagonists of both stories are females who are not yet adults. Both Ladies are ultimately trying to get home in their own ways. Dorothy is trying to get home from Oz once she realizes she misses her family. And Katniss is trying to stay alive to get home. Both stories introduce interesting characters along the way. Like Peeta in the Hunger Games and the Lion, Tin man, and Scarecrow in The wizard of Oz. These characters end up assisting the protagonist with getting home.  Although there are major differences in both stories, they are both classics.
